Navy Sends Carrier Strike Group Home from Israel

Second carrier and warships remain to prevent escalation from Iran.

The Navy announced last week that the USS Gerald Ford aircraft carrier strike group will be returning to its home port after assisting Israel’s defense for the past two months. The USS Eisenhower, another aircraft carrier, will remain in the eastern Mediterranean along with destroyer ships, battle cruisers, Marine forces, and more than 2,000 troops to ensure that Iranian-backed forces do not escalate the ongoing conflict in the Middle East.

“The Department of Defense continually evaluates force posture globally and will retain extensive capability both in the Mediterranean and across the Middle East,” the Navy’s Sixth Fleet stated. The Pentagon added that these deterrence efforts have successfully dissuaded large-scale conflict, though sporadic militant attacks against nearby forces continue to remain an issue.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For discernment for General Kurilla as he heads the U.S. Central Command.
  • For protection for U.S. sailors and troops stationed in the Mediterranean and Middle East.
  • For the peace of Jerusalem and wisdom for Israeli leaders as they continue the war against terrorists in Gaza and at their northern border.
